TED conferences is an American media organization. TED (an abbreviation of technology , entertainment and design) was founded by Richard Saul Wurman and Harry Marks. A non profit organization that had its inception in 1984.
TED provides a platform for talks under the slogan “ideas worth spreading”. The initial focus was on technology and design , but slowly evolved to cover other topics .It has been held annually since 1990.
In March of 2019 , Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology received a TED licence. Our first licence to host a TEDX event. Soon after, we obtained another licence for Tedxkcmt Women and it was the first of its kind in Kerala. A humongous achievement.
Countless hours of our hard work and sacrifice bore fruit . We were ecstatic that our vision was now a reality. TEDxKCMT has matured over the years and it remains as a source of inspiration for the people. A testimony to our grit and perseverance. A symbol of new life, renewed hope and new beginnings.
After the victory of our first event, we came back with yet another feat, TEDxKCMT WOMEN:BOLD+BRILLIANT on December 14th,2019 showcasing a wide array of speakers who were steadfast on empowering women with their fearless ideas and innovations. We believe that the event was a true celebration of fierce individuals who continue to change the game on what it means to be a woman. Undoubtedly, the event was a grand success as it was pivotal to spark change amongst our growing community of changemakers.
TEDxKCMT established its unique identity with its first event CHECKMATE which was held on 13th of July,2019. The purpose of choosing this theme was to provide a platform for noteworthy individuals to share their experiences of conquering the “CHECKMATE” that life throws at them. We had a diverse group of speakers and performers who elevated the entire experience of this event. This event was a great learning experience for our society and a great experience for TEDxKCMT community to curate more amazing events in future.
